Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation
 |
|
A New Approach to Aging!
An IPL Photofacial treatment is recommended for treatment of multiple conditions: age
spots, sun damage, hyperpigmentation caused by acne, rosacea and general
redness of cheeks and face, spider veins or individual vessels which
can be red, blue or purple in color. |
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin treatments
using the photorejuvenation process represents a breakthrough in age-defying
skin care. This new technique treats skin non-invasively. IPL treatments
address the effects of photoaging and sun damage with low risk of side
effects and minimal recovery time. This is the treatment of choice for
you if you have uneven skin tone, diffuse redness or hyperpigmentation
or freckling. You will see a difference in just one treatment.
What is Skin Rejuvenation?
Skin Rejuvenation helps you keep a younger and fresher look. The safe,
visible light emitted from the IPL flash lamp makes your face look younger
by removing age spots, sun spots, uneven pigmentation, diffuse redness
and by improving your skin texture.
What is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)?
IPL (Photofacial) is an FDA approved technology which uses short, safe
bursts of light emitted from a flash-lamp to treat specific skin conditions.
The technology is very sophisticated, it carefully delivers both the appropriate
amount of light and the speed of its delivery to your specific skin condition.
The light is absorbed by the pigment in sunspots and the blood in visible
vessels, and converted to heat. The heat dissolves the cells that create
the pigment and shrinks the vessels.
What is a PhotoFacial Treatment?
A PhotoFacial treatment is a series of full face gentle pulsed light treatments
which improves the appearance of sun damaged skin, diffuse redness and/or
flushing, rosacea and broken capillaries. 3-4 treatments are recommended
at 1 month intervals. PhotoFacial treatments result in a more youthful
appearing skin and even tone.
What is the difference between Laser
and Intense Pulsed Light?
Treatments with laser and intense pulse light both work in the same way,
choosing wavelengths that are absorbed by the target. A laser uses light
with one specific wavelength and intense pulsed light uses a band of wavelengths.
How can I be sure the IPL is
a safe and effective treatment?
Clinical studies documenting Ellipse IPL's safety and effectiveness have
been completed and the results of these studies are published in respected
medical journals. Visit www.candelalaser.com
to view these scientific studies. The settings used for your treatment
will be based on the settings recommended by the clinicians who carried
out the clinical trials.
Does the Photofacial treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation of the IPL as a warming sensation
similar to the feeling one has after a day at the beach. No topical anesthetics
are required.
What can I expect after a Photofacial
treatment?
Immediately after your Photofacial, you can expect a mild sun burn like
sensation that may last for 24 hours. Any areas of broken capillaries
or spider veins may stay red for longer. Age and sun spots may darken
initially for a few days and then lighten or disappear. Even though a
series of IPL treatments is recommended, you will see results with your
first treatment within 7-14 days!
Can I have an IPL Photofacial?
As skin rejuvenation is based on light absorption by melanin and hemoglobin,
treatments are most effective in clients with light skin who are not sun
tanned. The lighter the skin, the more pronounced the contrast between
the age spots or blood vessels and the skin, making the treatment most
effective. The Ellipse IPL has settings available for different skin types
that deliver the correct energy output for your complexion.
What is the pre and post treatment
care involved following a Photofacial?
Before an IPL Photofacial treatment you must avoid the sun, tanning beds
and self tanning creams and lotions. We may apply some ice immediately
following your IPL treatment. It is recommended to use an SPF 30 before
and after treatment.
What areas can be treated with an
IPL/Photofacial?
Face and neck, hands and arms, and chest are most common areas for a photofacial
treatment.
Safe, comfortable and fast!
In the past, harsh treatments resulted in red, raw
skin, with a long recovery period. The Candela Ellipse IPL provides the
most comfortable, effective Photofacials available, without any downtime.
Treatments take about 30 minutes, and you can return to work or other
activities- looking and feeling fine. |
